"Go" significa "ir" en español y es uno de los verbos que más se usan del inglés. En algunas ocasiones no se traduce exactamente igual, por ejemplo, "I am not going to do that" puede traducirse como "no voy a hacer eso" o "no haré eso". A continuación se presenta la conjugación de este verbo y posteriormente ejemplos en enunciados.

Enunciados con "to go"

  • Present simple: I do not go to the park every Monday. (yo no voy al parque cada lunes)
  • Presente continuo: I'm going to school. (yo estoy yendo a la escuela)
  • Presente perfecto simple: We have gone fishing. (nos hemos ido de pesca)
  • Presente perfecto continuo: They have been going to the movies every Friday for the past two years. (han estado yendo al cine cada viernes por los últimos dos años)
  • Past simple: She went to the play. (ella fue a la obra de teatro)
  • Past continuous: You were going to visit me yesterday. (tú ibas a visitarme ayer)
  • Past perfect simple: I had already gone to the supermarket before you got home with the food. (yo ya había ido al supermercado antes de que llegaras a casa con la comida)
  • Past perfect continuous: I had been going to piano lessons every Wednesday before I decided to quit. (yo había estado yendo a clases de piano cada miércoles por años antes de decidir dejar de tocar)
  • Future simple: They will not go to the party with me. (ellos no irán a la fiesta conmigo)
  • Future continuous: I will be going to the wedding in an hour. (Estaré yendo a la boda en una hora)
  • Future perfect simple: He will have gone skiing before you tell him not to. (él se habrá ido a esquiar antes de que le digas que no lo haga)
  • Future perfect continuous: You will have been going to the mall alone for an hour before she meets you. (habrás estado yendo solo al centro comercial por una hora antes de que ella se encuentre contigo)
